I watched the hbo replay last night. Ward's ring rust in the first fight was apparent. His timing and sense of distance was off. Kovalev's jab wasn't nearly as effective in the rematch

I told everyone Ward was underdone heading into the first fight
I said he'd be much better/sharper after those 12 HARD rounds
everyone asked how Barrera/Brand would prepare Ward for Kova
answer: they didn't..... Ward's career/resume' prepared him for Kovalev (and yes, I said that as well), he just needed to be sharp.....
but somehow, everyone forgot that Ward was underdone, saying that Kovalev would make the better improvements
also..... Ward has made an art-form out of adapting to the guy in front of him...... he comes with a different gameplan for every opponent, and never fights the same way..... he is clearly MUCH more well-rounded than Kovalev, who couldn't get his hook going..... and yet everyone argued that Kovalev would make better adjustments than Ward..... wtf?
Ward was always going to be better prepared, and he was always going to make the better adjustments
Kovalev lost before he ever got into the ring. What a unprepared corner. With not being in shape, with not changing anything from the first fight, and now this:
