Comments Thread For: David Lemieux's Manager Would Love To Secure Miguel Cotto

Last Saturday night, former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs) pounded out a tough ten round unanimous decision over Marcos Reyes at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was part of the Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. undercard on HBO Pay-Per-View. Reyes took a tough beating in the contest, but he never went away. Lemieux suffered a left hand injury in the fight and it prevented him from doing heavy damage in the second half of the fight.

Lemmy might actually kill Cotto at this point in his career.

Sounds good to me. Let's see it. Lemieux vs Cotto, Jacobs, or Charlo in the fall. Or Deravanchenko, or Saunders-Kurtsides winner. Those are really the only interesting fights at the moment. I guess Degale, Ramirez, or Chavez Jr at 168 would also be fun, but those are the only good fights at 160 I can think of. Well, maybe Murata and a few other guys, but those are the best ones.

Daniel would have to go down to 154 because Cotto is not going up...

Cotto needs to stay away from these guys at 160. Stay at 154 and try and get somebody at 147 to move up to you. I think khan, bradley, marquez, brook are much better fights for him at this stage.

Just keep focusing on the winner of Golovkin-Canelo or even the loser of that fight. There's Jacobs, Charlo, Chris Eubank Jr, a lot of guys to fight at 160.

Cotto is not even a middleweight. He weighed 153.5 against Canelo and Geale and he weighed 155 against Martinez.

Stop pipe dreaming about fighters smaller than 160. Lemieux can barely make 160 as well. You guys should be looking up to 168 or at 160 for your opponents.

I would like that fight but Cotto wouldn't go fight at 160. He's in the last year anyway. I would have preferred JMM and Bradley. Looks like we'll get Kamegai and then hopefully Bradley or Brook or something.
