Comments Thread For: Team Andrade: Lara Turned Us Down Twice; Never Talked Money

Artie Pelullo and Ed Farris were as surprised as anyone when they learned Erislandy Lara claimed Demetrius Andrade had priced himself out of their inevitable fight. Pelullo, Andrade's co-promoter, and Farris, the unbeaten boxer's manager, both told krikya360.com on Wednesday that Lara's handlers have twice turned down a fight against Andrade, long before how much money Andrade would make was even discussed. They're particularly bothered by Lara's claim because the sole reason Andrade agreed to travel to Germany last month to fight for the WBA's "world" 154-pound title was to put the 2008 Olympian into position to become the mandatory challenger for Lara's WBA "super" 154-pound title.

Just make the fight. All this is to much drama for a fight this small. This fight should be simple to make

I don't know who is lying here but Lara wanting another tune-up better be a lie, Lara just "tuned-up" vs Foreman!

Makes sense, fighting Culcay for no money only matters to become mandatory. Lara has fought nothing but bums for 3 years, he's just collecting easy paychecks. I miss him with golden boy.

Someone should ask Espinoza who wanted to fight and who did not.

Who actually believes what Andrade has to say? It's been years of missed fights and opportunities.

This guy has no credibility. All he does is talk **** in the press.

Exactly. He's missed opportunities, which is why I believe him that he wants this one, to fight Lara. And since Lara has been talking on twitter that he doesnt need to fight Andrade, and that he wants Hurd instead, I believe every word. Hurd even tweeted Lara that he wants to shut Lara up the most, but that Lara should take care of his business with Andrade first, and Lara responded that he didn't have any business with Andrade, and that he wanted Hurd next.

So that's why you should believe Andrade this time.

Exactly! It's real simple... ask the network. Who asked for the fight? Who turned it down?
