I like GGG and think he is a solid fighter but doesnt he have to face a hall of fame level fighter before he retires? Isnt it who you fight that matters and not just titles?

Can GGG be an ATG without ever facing a 1st ballot hall of fame fighter?

It's hard to tell, but I don't think highly if the IBHOF, it's really cheap and it feels like any top fighter can get it in. It should really be for ATG's, not just for top fighters. He's a little popular, got some defense thing going at 160 about to tie with Hopkins. He can make it, but if he loses to Canelo he can kiss that chance goodbye. He's to old to recoup from a Canelo loss. It's a must win fight.

He beat Cotto, Cotto is probably a first ballot HOF'er. Remember, people sometimes forget how insignificant the IBHOF really is. It's a popularity contest. If you were popular, got some titles, beat some names, you're in.
You see that a lot - "what HOF'ers did he beat"
But what is the significance?
Willie Pastrano is a HOF'er but if he any better than Vernon Forrest? Not IMO. But because he's a "HOF'er" he's held to a certain level.
Too Sharp Johnson is a HOF'er, for what? Being on the P4P list for a few years?
You said it, it's cheap.
Ricky Hatton will be a HOF'er one day, you can bet Floyd detractors will soon discredit it when he has a prime HOFer on his resume.
