The massive lay off and brutal beat down from Kovalev obviously ended Hopkins career essentially.

But as always when Hopkins takes an L he has all the excuses and looks for a way out when he gets a chance.

Still remember the old mans boast about never losing to a white boy? LMFAO this must hurt!

Hopefully not. Hes on a point right now where he can just beat a tomato-can opponent. The man has nothing left.

Even poor man's Floyd, Andre Ward, is also "undefeated" and just "beat" most people's second or third favorite fighter...

So you have nothing to complain. The fans who like those kinds of fighters have won every major battle in boxing like the last decade. Those elite defensive fighters get every big opponent on all of their own terms, at the perfect time for them, with refs and judges helping them, and so they win every major battle. But then when it comes time that people who like exciting fighters might get a win on their side, like with GGG, the fighters you like just duck them for five - ten years and never even give them that opportunity to get the big win, and so we never get it.

So be happy man. Boxing is still skewed towards the fighters you like.
Brother, you have me pegged incorrectly.

I love and respect Hopkins but despise Mayweather, and have said time and time again that his true legacy is the corrosive influence he had on the sport, which is still ****ing things up to this day. His piece de resistance was his pathetic performance against Pacquaio.

Anyway, I have no idea why you went into overdrive about Mayweather in response to my post. If it is because the post seemed to think I wanted Mayweather to leave undefeated - I don't care. I am just delighted to see him gone, and the whole "undefeated" thing for him made his latter section of his career unwatchable.

As for Hopkins - I know he's a divisive figure but B-Hop is a legend of the game and it ****** to see him go out that way.

I'm still not sure getting knocked out of the ring in that manner should end a fight.

Had those shots just knocked him down, he'd have got up. It was the fall that caused concern.

                Well spoken.

A loudmouth, racist ("I'll never let a white boy beat me"), overrated spoiler who bent the rules to help his career.

I won;t miss him, and all his full of shi t remarks.

Hopkins has been stealing money for years now. Unfortunately I doubt he ends on that note

Excellent win for Smith Jr! Hopkins did well! But it's time he retires. For sure Hopkins is one of the greats.
