Because negotiations are not dictated and team ggg could've offered Jacobs a fair split but they obviously want the unfair purse bid which is why team ggg pushed for the fight to go to purse bid like last week

Theyve been negotiating for a month. The purse bid was scheduled for past Monday. This fight is in 2 months. Obviously they're getting nowhere in negotiations.

Both sides will look bad if they can't get this deal done.

From Golovkin's side, how can they think that they can get a deal done with a 75-25 split when they gave Dominic Wade an 80-20 split? If they aren't willing to offer at least 70-30 then you have to wonder why they were not willing to concede slightly against a genuine middleweight threat when they have done so against much lesser opposition.

From Jacobs' side, he has already tried to get an interim fight, tried to change mandated purse percentages, all because he believes he is worth $X, which no one else believes he is worth. Is he forgetting that he can become the unified champ and ask for whatever pay he likes if he wins? Maybe K2 are low-balling him but if his own promoter doesn't choose to pay him what he is asking for then that would prove that he is delusional about his value.

GGG needs a big fight this year and Jacobs will not get a bigger opportunity at middleweight, if neither side can see how much both fighters need this fight then this fight won't get done.
