Very good fighter. Excellent offensive skills, good footwork and ring intelligence. Resume filled with nondescript opposition hampers him. Could also hurt him when he faces an elite opponent but I'd pick him over every 160lber today.

I have him as the best fighter pound for pound in the world today. If that isn't a 10 what is? I give him a 10. He never loses a fight and rarely loses a round. He defends his titles about twice as many times a years as most champions do. He has 17 successful title defenses in row winning them all by KO. He has KOed 24 boxers in a row. A rating of 5 seems unfairly low. 5 is average. GGG's accomplishments in the ring are exceptional, not average. Who else except Kovalev has 3 of the 4 major title belts? Who else has 17 successful title defenses and defends their titles 3 or 4 times a year instead of once or twice a year? Nobody!

There's something like 21500 active professional boxers in the world (per boxrec) and only 4 unified champions - 3 if you discount Fury. I don't really go in for P4P but most of those who do - even Golovkin detractors - tend to have him somewhere in the top 10. That puts him somewhere in the top 0.05% of active fighters.

Where does that fit on a 0 - 10 scale?
