The sport is going through a really rough spot in which the perspective of what it is to become a professional fighter is so twisted that people defend mandatory challengers putting in demands to the champion and then pretend the champ is not doing enough to make the fight happen.

The champ calls the shots, and the challenger should do everything in his power to get a shot at the champion, not set the conditions in which the fight happens.

There are some exceptions with well established HOFs who also happen to be cash cows, but Jacobs is neither.

The split is 75-25 which plays into K2's hands. Do you think Jacobs would send an offer asking for $5 mil when he knows the purse bid would probably total $5 mil and he'll only get $1.25 mil? That makes no sense. Jacobs doesn't want the fight to go to purse bid, it doesn't benefit him. That's why his team are asking the WBA to change the purse split. K2 does want the fight to go to purse bid because it benefits them. That's why they're the ones that called for an early purse bid. The deadline is only 4 days away. Why call for a purse bid with so little time left? It will be interesting if the WBA decides to change the split. I think the fight will get signed without a purse bid if they do decide to change the split.

I can't claim to know much - the only **** I heard about this was the 'source' from Sherdog who claimed Danny had agreed to 30% which were apparently the terms offered by GGG. That may or may not have been BS but I'm not seeing much except speculation here either.

I just want to see the fight but if it doesn't happen I'm sure there'll be plenty of back and forth about whose fault it was. FWIW I reckon Danny deserves 30 - 35%. 40% would be pretty generous, the mandated 25% a bit low. What I think may have happened is that Danny was happy was a 30% cut of a projected sum but then found out that the $ figure attached to that was lower than anticipated, but again, that's just speculation.
