Is the term Euro Bum, overrused and unjustified?

I mean lets put this into perspective here.

We had Lomachenko MUUURDER gary russel

We have several top ten heavyweights who reside in Europe/uk two of which will fight for titles in right around the corner.

We had Frampton just come here and put it to santa Cruz ending his long winning streak.

We have Kovalev and GGG knocking out American, after American and American fans and media seem to subtly ignore it.

A whole host of talent from eastern Europe and the UK is is blooming just before our eye( berterbiev, Joshua, Fonfara, Kovalev, even guys like JAMIE MCDONALD are up and coming.

It's confusing to me because even hitorically it was always Euros in the heavier weights vying for titles. Schmeling, Johnson etc, and even recent fight like Pirog Jacobs(Jacobs went to sleep).

I suppose it it more of a question of how the term originated. 160+ is dripping with Euro talent, and it has historically. Any theories?

If crawford wouldn't have beat Postol it would be a EURO sweep!!

Its a outdated and useless term. Back in the day, everyone went to America to get that money and prestige. Those that stayed home and held fast to their WBO belts were considered bums.

Those days are long over. Boxing is a world sport now, there's just as much money to be had in many places these days, and there are chumps of all nationalities that give up belts rather than go abroad to fight, Americans included.

It's a code word for white. I've never seen Lennox Lewis or Frank Bruno or Chris Eubank called a Euro bum. Maybe they have but it's typically steered toward white boxers. Many who claim that they hate racism and will happily call out a white person for being racist jump at the chance to use the term Euro bum. They think it's clever but it doesn't get more transparent.

Back in the day boxing was something of a fringe sport in Europe and the uk. It had next to no funding and the training was miles behind the US.

In the US it was a huge sport well funded with excellent training etc. So back then you'd have euro or british fighters who just weren't at the level of American fighters.

The last 15 years though that has clearly changed and it's a lot more even than before but the old stereotype remains and Americans don't want to admit that things have changed

Tyrone Biggums, if I have his name correct, over uses the hell out of the term Eurobum. The term shouldn't even exist. It's a very ****** and insulting term. With all the good and great fighters who come from Europe how in the hell can anyone say fighters from Europe are all bums. There are some fighters from Europe who are bums but that would be true of any other part of the world. How about Mexibums or Ameribums? That would be equally ******.

It makes no sense to me. I could argue European fighters are out performing Americans right now, and have a great case. 160+ is dominated by Euros...

It's funny because PBC cards are lined with straight bums, it's like they get a bunch of bums and fighters together and make a card, attempting to fool everyone.
