Jacobs should forget about the money beating GGG would be huge for his career will make him a star

I get why Jacobs wants to be paid for a Golovkin fight because that is the money fight opportunity unless Canelo decides to fight him which is unlikely. So it makes sense for him to want to be paid well for that fight.

However, there are also things he needs to do to really get that amount, and that includes staying active building his star. I think the Mora fight is fine but it is not fine 10 months after beating Quillin 4 or 5 ok but not 10 that is just wasting too much time killing momentum.

Jacbos is a good fighter I think GGG beats him tho but this trend isn't anything new, americans are something else
Golovkin has stopped way tougher and better fighters than Jacobs has, with the lone exception being Quillin. There is a huge difference in their resumes in favor of Golovkin. He's stopped like 3 or 4 fighters as good or better than Quillin. Hell, Rosado was arguably going to beat Quillin if not for that ****** stoppage over that scratch.

There's a tremendous difference in their resumes. Jacobs has only ever beaten 1 top 10 MW (Quillin). Mora, Fletcher, Truax at best were top 20 MW. If Danny was fighting better opposition his KO% would be lower, like the time he was taken the distance vs Ishe Smith.

Conversely Golovkin fought 7 top 10 MW's (Lemieux, Murray, Macklin, Geale, Rubio, Stevens, Proksa). Don't laugh, Rubio just took Anthony Dirrell the distance, where Dirrell then KO'd Truax in 1 round after Truax went 12 with Jacobs.

MW is fairly unpopular, he couldn't get Canelo, Cotto even if he tried. He has GGG available and that's it for the big names. Mainly Canelo and Cotto were/are the Mayweather/Pacquiao of 154-160. He couldn't get Sergio Martinez, Kelly Pavlik, Paul Williams. He couldn't get any of these names for one reason or the other, whether he was rebuilding, fighting cancer, or just wasn't ready, he couldn't get them and these were the resume bulding names

I don't see how Eubank Jr, Saunders, Lemiuex, Lee would make his popularity skyrocket but I guess that's the best 160 has and the best he has to work with other than GGG and Canelo. There's not much in that weight class, so naturally fans won't care about what's going on there other than what Canelo and GGG are doing. Jacobs needs to demand a GGG fight and take advantage of the oppurtunity if he gets it

It's simple, you haven't done enough. You mention Canelo, but he's fought Floyd, Cotto, and Lara to build his name. Heck even Trout and Mosley helped make him a bigger star. You need to keep fighting and fight good names to make people want to see you. One Quillin fight won't cut it.

again, its not much of a difference as many state, GGG does have the edge tho. good post

I didn't read the article but the reason why Jacobs isn't a star yet has already been said by the other posters.

Beating Golovkin would be a huge step but I don't think he could.

YOu can build your name higher than what Jacobs's is right.... he needs to stop being inactive and fight more. Everybody complains GGG fights nobody but cans, but he's one of the most popular fighters today, levels above Jacobs.

They have opponents readily available. INstead of fighting twice a year or 9 month layoffs, fight, stay active and keep your name out there.

I don't understand why he's confused as to why nobody knows who he is.... kind of obvious

its pretty obvious dumbo you need to fight more often and at some point you will have to face and beat ggg.
