My answer is that it wouldn't be fair. Tunney was 190lbs, 6', same day weigh ins. Today that's a super middleweight. The real question is who wins between Tunney and Ward, Kovalev, Stevenson

Wilder is a giant compared to Tunney. Ward, Kov, Adonis are around 185-190lbs on fight night and around 6' tall. That's more of a match. Wilder slaughters Tunney

None of these old school guys were real heavyweights by today's standards. Tunney would be more evenly matched with LHWs or very small CWs.

The generational gap is too wide to make a decision on this. It's just gonna boil down to who's disliked less.

In seriousness though, Tunney enjoyed a size advantage over most of the guys he fought. Fighting modern HWs would probably not work out well for Tunney.

I havent seen enough of Tunney but I know he was smart and tactically sound. Thing is, Wilder is just too big and does hit hard enough to hurt Tunney.
