Comments Thread For: Frampton: Hurting Santa Cruz in The Second Made Big Difference

New York - The last time Carl Frampton (23-0, 14 KO's) came to the United States, many would agree that he had a lackluster performance against little known Alejandro Gonzalez.

... Leo got caught badly in the second round by that left hook on the temple and, later on, he looked significantly more "gun-shy" as compared to his usual ring performances...

Leo "won" the jab stats and, because of the jabs, he also won the total punches landed stats... Frampton, instead, "won" the power punches stats (7-5; 206-191 respectively)...

if u are getting oujabbed signifcantly and frampton was..a guy landing 190 plus power shots doesnt seem to shabby and i'd argue he landed more than or at least much closer if not more..i agree with leo's dad lee seemed out land him in the exchanged 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 at times

As I said above: it was a matter of "perception"...
Other judges might have hat it a "draw" or even a Leo's "win" at 7-5...

(I didn't have a horse in that race...)

agreed i viewed both as duckers...i have slomo hd and i'm thinkin about doing a punch stat video non bias as can be...

LEO ACTUALLY COUNTERED WITH WITH HIS JAB THIS FIGHT..and i think he got no credit for it

I could understand MAYBE a draw because Leo was the champ but thats still kinda generous. I had Frampton winning pretty clearly. A 7-5 UD shoulda been proper for Frampton. LSC biggest problem is he lacks power at 126, volume punching only works if u have some pop, if u dont it leaves u open for cleaner punches & makes u look limited like LSC looked in a majority of rds. Imo of course.

boxnation had it 6-6 lol....i haven't seen showtime but they must have been even more biased than the prototypical biased brits......i see more yanks having it wide for Frampton...

It was a 7-5 either way fight.....the punch frampton landed in round 2 was very important in terms of perception....no other Frampton shot came even close to being as effective as that one and Leo got the better off most exchanges, and still people gave Frampton more credit just because he had proved to be able to hurt Santa Cruz...but the thing is, anyone who has eyes can see why that punch was that showy.....Leo ducking down and moving his feet to avoid the previous shot left him unbalanced.....he was throwing counters 1 second after...he wasn't even hurt.

Good fight and it was great skill from both, let's see that rematch....honestly Leo can do better and Frampton will look to spoil more and count on the Irish crowd to tip it in his favor because he boxed a near perfect fight for him and it was still close...

This!!!! I could see Leo winning as well. Who even knows maybe having his dad there and what he went through had him a lil off... If they rematch and Frampton is a big favorite I can see a LOT of $$$$ being paced on Leo.
