Comments Thread For: Golovkin vs. Eubank: Hearn Aims To Finalize Deal in 48-72 Hours

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is working very hard to finalize the remaining details for a fall showdown between British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18KOs) and WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Eubank jnr and team are notoriously unloyal when it comes to promoters. They will shift to whoever they feel like, when they feel like it.

I dont think Hearn really feels like Jnr is 'his fighter', even despite being signed to him.

Also, from a purely promotional perspective, it drives home to fans just how big a risk Jnr would be taking with this fight, which makes him look like more of a badass. Taking the fight not even his promoter thought he would

Sr aint playing games. He's not making deals for 15 months ahead. He's giving firm ultimatums and reiterating it in the press. Putting the pressure on Sky and Hearn to make the fight. This is how you get fights made. Not that agree to keep stepping aside and agreeing to 15 month "maybe we might fight you" agreements.

I wouldnt get excited for this until its signed and sealed tbh.

I guess that goes for all fights, but this one really has come out of nowhere

I agree with what you said about Hearn and his fighters. James DeGale said the same thing about Hearn

Eubank was only signed to Hearn for two fight deal, Doran was first fight so he really want that GGG fight to be last on contract gotta cash him out

If Chris survives 6 stanzas it will be a moral and physical victory.
In all likelihood, this goes 3. He is completely unprepared for what GGG delivers in the precincts of will and skill and strength. Another stay busy event until Alvarez or Jacobs man up.
