Wasn't Canelo like 50-0 when he fought Mayweather?
In this case, Mayweather would have easily been able to make such a case to Canelo. All day.
But Canelo saying this bull**** to GGG? Please, man. You don't get credit for hyping "the best opposition" on your resume, when said opposition hands your ass to you.
This is THE fight to make in boxing. Right now. Both teams know it, as does everyone else. It's Oscar's whole 'let it marinate' mantra. It's big money, no doubt. But I think these fools have delusions of grandeur post-May/Pac revenue.
And unlike that fight, Canelo/GGG has a shelf life soon-to-approach its end.

GGG called out the best from 154-168 pounds and "delivered" for the fans in nothing but "50/50 fights , true big drama shows" he's always giving us fans "special gifts for fans" he went up to 168 and fought Andre Ward , and Degeale, then he faced , Lara and Jacobs , then he fought Ward again to secure the Mayweather fight cause Floyd told him to do that then to keep true to his word he is willing to negotiate a fight with you CANELO at what ever weight you want even though Golovkin is a bigger super star then Mayweather, CANELO, Cotto and Pacquiao Golovkin's resume & PPV numbers are clear evidence of it . Golovkin never uses the "A-Side B-Side " "he don't sell" "he needs more fights" "he's unknown" excuses ever! All those high profile fights I mentioned were legacy fights for Gennady and he took them all. Im not even mentioning how he was the underdog to the great slick pure boxer technician/boxer puncher/power punching pressure fighter undefeated world class fighter Dominick Wade and we all know how that worked out for Wade and all his awesomeness. Yeah Wade looked down towards his beeping ankle monitor(house arrest) & Golovkin sucker-punched him but you must protect yourself at all times.

GGG and Canelo have comparable best wins really.
The real difference is that Golovkin wants to fight and Canelo doesn't. Everything else is a moot point. Everything Canelo says about Golovkin, you can just answer with: "Then fight him".

NOT TRUE. Canelo wants to fight at 155. His last five fights including the next one with Khan, have been done at 155 pounds.

Golovkin said "I will fight ANYONE from 154 to 168".

155 is included in that weight range.

Your "moot point" can easily be reversed: everything GGG says about Canelo, you can just answer with: "then if you feel you are so much better, just fight him at 155, you are willing to fight Floyd at 154 but not Canelo at 155? Are you scared of Canelo then?

They can't sign the actual contract until after Kovalev's (and Ward's) summer tune-up(s)...

Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward have a deal. Now, all they have to do is win

The agreements for Kovalev and Ward have been signed. The deal-points have been worked out down to the size of the ring. Well if he can make 154 for Floyd, he should be able to make 155 for Canelo. 157 is a good number, and that was the catch-weight Oscar demanded from B-Hop, so it is not something that hasn't been done before. Unfortunately, if GGG is "not willing to come down one ounce," then he'll have to wait until Canelo can't make 155 anymore, which could be a while, since Canelo is only 25. Anyway, let's hope the WBA does it's job, and we get a purse bid for GGG vs. Jacobs!

For Floyd... Floyd never fought +154, he is undefeated, an ATG and the biggest payday of all time.


Both camp knows GGG might destroy Floyd at 160, I mean, GGG can cut off the ring an would always be there in front of Floyd, popping with a solid jab and strong punches to the body.

Floyd's soft potshots wouldn't help him to stop GGG throwing and cutting off well.

Now that Floyd's legs are kinda gone, I don't think he would last + 6 rounds.

GGG would do a kinda job Cotto did but with stronger punches and would probably blow him out of the water.

Overhall GGG's skills and size/power are all wrong for Floyd.

So even weakened and drained at 154, they probably think GGG still has a shot IMO.


Canelo is whole different animal, just like Mancini said, he's built like a linebacker, walk around 180 (Floyd 155)

Style make fights, + Nelo has a 160 belt, so he needs to STFU with that 155 bias.
