    No one really defends it.
It's ****** to do. If you think about it really only hurts himself. The fighters he's fought at 155 are fighters who normally fight at 154. I doubt having 1 less lb to lose hurt any of them. However Canelo clearly struggles to come down to 154, 155 isn't really that much of a difference.

I honestly believe if GGG never existed, Canelo would be fighting at 160 now.

He would rather struggle to make 155 than be comfortable at 160, because while he does that, he can play the "i'm not a middleweight card" to avoid the fight for a while. He walks around bigger than most MW's, he just has youth on his side so he can shift the weight easier, but that won't always be the case as he gets into his late 20's.

From an ethical boxing perspective, I haven't heard a single reasonable argument defending "Canelo-weight".

And unless someone is bringing a decent argument to the table, I don't particularly care.

I know I'm only one man, but as the saying goes, gotta vote with your feet. And I'm happy to have no desire to buy a Canelo fight - haven't yet, and still won't. Otherwise, I'm encouraging more bull*****.

If Canelo doesn't want to fight real 160 fighters he should stop holding the belt hostages and let everyone else eat.

Think about that for a moment.

If there was no Gennady Golovkin, what would the 160lb division look like:

-IBF, WBA, and wbc would have new champions
-Miguel Cotto would still be the star fighter that everyone else would risk their left nut to fight
-Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez would still be a budding superstar in his own right
-basically all of the middleweight fighters, even without Golovkin, would be 180lbers boiling down to 160

'Canelo' Alvarez is eventually going to no longer be able to get himself down to JMW; that's true. still, if you think Alvarez is waiting in glee to be a 5'9, 70" reach MW (facing down from this slew of guys coming down from 180lbs), you're kidding yourself.

                NO LONGER?

he can't even get to 154 now, hence him not fighting there. He's a Middleweight

Lil'G have the weirdest conclusive analysis vs Canelo.

                  "154-168 easy." -Lil'G and Abel

"We want 155 bout with Alvarez, easy, Canelo is easy for us." -Abel

"We never thought, 2 years ago, that Canelo would take the WBC or Lineal today." -Abel

"We could just publicize and say that we would accept a 155 offer from GBP's because of 154-168 is easy!" -Abel

So it doesn't matter what GBP bluffs, the fact that Lil'G and has fans never bring up the easiness to just steal the belt and lineal is beyond weak. They only say Lil'G wants it the real way. They would prefer, and we read here constantly, that they want Nelo to vacate it!!!!! That would be horrible if Lil'G got the WBC and Lineal via promoted. NSB dorks are just ******. They should watch golf ..

I also like GGG, but I understand that he won't make the necessary sacrifices to become a superstar. Everything he has (titles) were basically handed to him.

Oscar, Floyd and Manny forced catch weights here and there, while Alvarez is forcing everybody to fight at 155 since TWO ****ING YEARS.

Answer me this, of all the fighter Canelo fought at 155, who was at disadvantage?

To me, it actually help them because they were all BIG JMW.
