Comments Thread For: Amir Khan Details Background on Mayweather, Pacquiao Talks

It's been a long and winding road but Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) finally has his big fight, as he faces WBC middleweight belt-holder Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) on May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Khan's career for the past two years was bogged down as he unsuccessfully chased fights against Floyd Mayweather and then Manny Pacquiao.

I just realized that if Khan beats Canelo, Mayweather is coming back for #50 against Khan for the lineal and WBC middleweight titles.

    War Khan!

nah floyd ducked khan for a reason. if khan wins it will just solidify floyd's fear and make him more reluctant to fight khan. i'm a coward so i understand the mind of a coward very well.

He didn't get those fights because he did nothing to deserve them. Granted neither did Berto and some others but maybe Khan shouldn't have been yappin his mouth so much. He's an easy guy not to like. Im not sure why this guy thinks he's the best boxer in the world. Oh yeah, cause he has "speed". That's about the only truthful thing this guy ever says. He is pretty good at the chicken dance though.....

I think the Floyd fight not happening was not out of fear, but of a personal dislike Floyd has for Amir. Manny, or his camp, straight ducked Khan.

Khan is in a Win Win scenario. If he loses he gets a lot of money and people will give him a pass because he jumped up 2 weight classes. If he wins he a lot of money, 2 straps and can lure May or Pac up too fight him because he beat the main attraction in boxing( think May/Pac vs Dela Hoya). Thus bringing all that cash

I dont beleive Mayweather was afraid of Khan. Not for a second.

Khan is in a win win. He cant really hurt image any worse than it is. He's just kind of delusional.

Floyd doesnt like pac too but still fought him although it should have happened when they were in their prime years. And why would Manny duck Khan?
