Like GGG vs Lara, I've seen a few people calling for it many times, which is not the same thing. And I suspect that even those few people are only calling for it to wind up Floyd fans.

Obviously, they succeeded in doing that, but lets be realistic.

I don't know how any boxing fan can even entertain the idea of Mayweather or Pacquiao facing Golovkin, even at their best they'd get taken out, it's not so much the size differential it's also the skills Golovkin possesses. This whole Golovkin is straight up and down doesn't make any sense, either Mayweather hasn't analyzed Golovkin closely or he's too stubborn to admit he's wrong about the guy. It's sad enough that he thinks highly of Leo Santa Cruz who isn't as skilled as Golovkin, that part kills me.

How come people aren't doing the same for Pacquiao? See, it's more likely that GGG could land a fight with Pacquiao at JMW considering three important factors.

1. Pacquiao is contracted to HBO, just like Golovkin is

2. Pacquiao and GGG's promoters work with one another

3. Pacquiao isn't retired and is still actively fighting, unlike Floyd who is 40 years old and done with the sport

Pacquiao vs GGG would bring out the action that fans are craving. So how come most Golovkin fans aren't asking for that fight to get made? If you're actively seeking to fight a welter weight why not go for the second best? I'll tell you one thing, it does way more than 97k PPVs buys, that's for sure.

It was Golovkin's manager, not Abel, who said that GGG vs Floyd was unrealistic and a fantasy fight.

I hadn't heard anything about people wanting Floyd to fight ggg. What happen was Floyd said he could beat ggg and that's how that conversation started. Both Pac and Floyd would.be ****** matches. No one wants to see him fight smaller guys.
