Why did GGG agree to fight Rosado at a 157 lb catchweight?

No idea why it's so difficult to understand Golovkin is mandatory to the WBC middleweight belt. If it were to go to a purse bid there is no catchweight.

With that said, you can bank of Golovkin accepting 157 pounds from Canelo if it were offered to him. The problem here is Canelo continues to insist on 155 pounds which certainly isn't 157 pounds now is it? You also have to assume both sides do a lot of posturing with the media which is really just early negotiating, they want to see how the other side reacts, for example if k2 says we will only do 160 they want to see if Canelo responds by saying we can go up to 157 or whatever, then by the time real negotiations take place they can hold the other side to whatever public remarks they've made.

apparently you missed Canelo's earned voluntary defense before the mandatory after winning the Lineal. GGG didn't get the voluntary spot which is what many wanted and insisted it to be the ''mandatory.'' regardless and technically, the WBC has GGG as the ''mandatory'' no matter what, however, the new lineal champion is doing his first and I assume last voluntary defense provided by the council. as long as GGG still gets those side fees there's really no reason to complain after the voluntary.

For this fight Gennady agreed to come down from the middleweight limit to accommodate Rosado at a catch weight” said Tom Loeffler, Managing Director of K2 Promotions, “This is unheard for a champion, that’s how much respect Gennady has for Gabriel.”Continued Sanchez.

And this is why I don't respect he or his team.

          Golovkin has no nuts.

He'll fight light punching Mayweather at 154 whose only hope to win is to outpoint GGG while dancing around the ring or he'll fight the massively underdog Rosado at a 157 lb catchweight, but won't fight Canelo at 155 because it's too risky.

He'll fight Chavez Jr and Thomas O at 168, but won't fight Ward.

He'll fight a Haymon fighter in Wade, but won't fight Jacobs or Lara.

He wants it his way or no way. He doesn't bring PPV money. He doesn't have a massive audience. He doesn't want to make any sacrifices. He doesn't want to do anything but cry all day about who won't fight him
Why did Andre Ward want to fight Mayweather at 160 but he wouldn't fight GGG at 164?

You've got to do better than digging up something like that from 3 years ago, a lot changes in 3 years, that's quite a reach trying to prove your point but you know that.

Because he would make millions against floyd as opposed to fighting gg with a ppv buy rate of 97k

GGG would make millions against Floyd as opposed to fighting Ward who has to give away complimentary tickets to get any audience at all in his own home town.

GGG/Lemieux did a lot more than 97k, btw. I read a report saying 350k was the real number.

True but they were offering Canelo a CW a year ago as well. And just last week Loeffler said a CW is negotiable provided Canelo drops the belt first.its only right, if you can't handle 160, you got no right wearing a MW belt

He was lucky to be in the super six, and that's where all his work begins and ends.
