It gets tiring seeing GGG fans whine and complain like he should be treated differently than others have in the past. He isn't special, he isn't a proven seller, and hasn't defeated a single opponent that was less than an 8-1 underdog.
GGG allegedly is serious about unification. If he is, then take the 10% and make the fight. If he doesn't then IMO it shows that he is just another guy who thinks he is entitled to things.

People need to understand these truths. Canelo DOES NOT need to fight GGG. And he's by far head and shoulders a bigger draw. He's 25 and now the new Cash Cow in Boxing. He can fight anyone and it will make him a lot of money and draw tons of fans. GGG has no one he can fight that will make him the amount of money that he will make fighting Canelo. Canelo is a proven PPV star with multiple shows under his belt coming off 900K PPV buys. GGG has been on only 1 PPV and it was a huge disappointment. If he fights Canelo it's Canelo bringing all the fans to the table not GGG that's just a fact. Canelo's last PPV did almost 10X more buys then GGG's. Canelo fills up baseball stadiums to see him in a tune up fight. Think about that for a second. He just did the biggest HBO TV ratings for a boxing match in 10 years basically doubling the TV viewers GGG pulls on HBO FOR A TUNE UP FIGHT WITH KIRKLAND! Under ever measurable imaginable it's hard to justify that GGG is worth more then a 10% purse split with Canelo.
And I don't know why people are complaining 10% of a Canelo fight by the way generates GGG a career high payday and more money he could get by fighting anyone else. GGG made a career high of 2mil against Lemiuex for a fight that flopped. And has made around 1mil for his fights prior and will not get 2mil again because he's not getting another PPV from HBO. If the total purse for Canelo is 35-40mil and he get's 10% he is still getting at or almost DOUBLE his career high payday.
Same thing happened with Floyd the previous cash cow and Oscar before him. They all command a huge percent of the money for almost everyone they faced but still offered career high paydays to their opponents because the overall pot is so big. All Floyd's opponents took home more money then GGG get's when he fights despite getting around 10% of the purse. Maidana made 3mil but Floyd took home 91% of the pot with 32mil. When Canelo agreed to fight Floyd he made only 10% (5mil) while Floyd made 90% (41.5m). Now does anyone think GGG is a bigger star now then Canelo was when he fought Floyd? F' No not even close. Yet if Canelo who was a bigger draw had to take 10% to get a Floyd fight and agree to a catchweight why do people think GGG shouldn't have to do the same?

Golovkin brings nothing to Canelo but a loss-ignore GGG
Golovkin offers Canelo nothing but a dangerous fight so why risk a career fighting some Russian with little fans and no appeal in the USA beating a young Canelo who is still in development. Canelo just does not need GGG or the loss. Mexicans are not known for Bravery anyway and are sneaky and slick.

It's also funny you say GGG thinks he is entitled, that cracked me up seeing as you're here to defend Canelo, that was a good one, Canelo is the poster boy for fighters that feel entitled. There is only 6 lbs difference between Jr. middleweight and middleweight and Canelo has been stuck there for 2 years now, what a joke.

90/10 sounds about right. Triple DDDuck hasn't fought anybody, isn't the champ(lineal), isn't a draw and his one and only PPV was a disaster.

There's absolutely no chance that Canelo/GGG purses are 30m. Canelo/Lara drew 350k ppvs and had 3m/1.5m purses. The realistic estimate for Golovkin/Canelo are 10-15m total.
Just because the media appointed Canelo the heir to Floyd's throne doesn't magically increase his draw power to Floyd's levels.
