Comments Thread For: Szpilka Claims to Have Yet To Be Drug Tested For Wilder Clash

If random drug testing is being conducted for his upcoming heavyweight title fight with Deontay Wilder, it’s news to Artur Szpilka.

The heavyweight southpaw is less than 10 days away from challenging for a portion of the division’s crown, headlining a double-heavyweight title fight bill at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Showtime will televise the event, one where the main event participants were rumored to have enrolled in a random drug testing program.

I believe it, its almost something with those pbc fighters, theirs a reason they always annoucing fights so damn late and then hire drugtesting, leaves only 1 week window to be tested.

I wish all the sports would drop the charade of caring about drug testing.

Pbc doesn't really do random testing, we've seen that. They say they do, I guess that's almost as good

If boxing were still a mainstream sport like football or baseball, that whole scandal about USADA and Mayweather would have BLOWN UP and lead to serious investigations and revelations. USADA is clearly in the Haymon pocket, so as far as I'm concerned, there is zero actual testing going on for PBC fights.

InB4 a Wilder fan claims that the drug test is ducking him rather than the other way round. Wilder is a good fighter but his role model for making career choices seems to be Peter Quillin.

All the drugs in the world wouldn't help this bum win the fight

Sounds like they lied, told him there would be drug testing to make sure he stayed clean, then Deontay shot up the good stuff. Old sports tactic.

Remember when Pascal tried the same thing but Duva called his bluff?
