Comments Thread For: Jennings Praises Ortiz: He Really Showed Me Something

Verona, NY – Bryant Jennings thought for sure that his respectable showing in a title fight loss versus then-World champion Wladimir Klitschko in April would be enough to contend with any top heavyweight. The Philadelphia-bred contender was dealt a harsh reality check, as he was dropped and stopped by Luis Ortiz in seven one-sided rounds Saturday evening at Turning Stone Resort & Casino.

Ortiz is good but it's hard to support him because of the positive test, kind of takes away from everything anytime you have a positive result even if you bounce back clean later on.

A Big cong**** to jennings. He showed me also a hell of a lot.
First round he got rocked and after he went to his corner i thought he looked intimidated. He clearly wasnt though. not one single second in the fight.
It looked like jennings was at home when they were inside and forgot to defend from uppercuts. That uppercut guys would have guys sleeping for 5 min straight believe me man. I dont know how in the world jennings got to his feet.
For me jennings might still be the number 1 heavyweight in america

Jennings is hilarious sometimes. "I considered myself the #1 contender in the world".

Seriously this guy. Ever since losing a brave effort to Klitschko he's been parading as if he won the damn fight.

Luis Ortiz is as exciting and skilled as a HW can can be.

Brutal ko power and top notch skillset i see the guy ruling the division.

I, for one, appreciated Jennings' sincerity in the post fight interview.

Classy of Jennings in a day where most people try to undercut the guy who beat them or cook up some excuse (a la Stiverne claiming he was drained by trying to make heavyweight at the weigh-in).

Luis "Horse Meat" Ortiz may have a future. Saw some good things but also some suspect things. We'll see.

John David Jackson gameplan was terrible. If Jennings decided to box instead of **** he could have won
