Story about Canelo abandoning catchweight is false

got it from 2 different sources last night.

Any story indicating there were any conversations or any decisions made about Canelos weight for a potential Sept GGG fight are false. Nothing of the sort has been discussed yet.

Only question is will sweet science retract its story or will they just leave it alone and hope it dies?

My question is how has that not been discussed? What the heck were they negotiating over the last 2 weeks?

Look at how Canelo has been using CWs for a solid 5 years now. Even when he is not using CWs he fights smaller guys.

Why on Earth after using CWs his whole career, would Canelo suddenly jump up 5 pounds to face perhaps the most feared puncher in MW history? LOL

Obviously Canelo did not abandon the CW demand! It just wasn't brought up it seems, but obviously Canelo will not face him at 160.

Haters been waking up sick and miserable since King Nelo exposed the "rejuvenated" handicap bully. It's kinda sad to see how low NSB has stooped.

The sweet science based their story from CBSSPORTS.COM who said Eric Gomez confirmed no catchweight

Gomez also said that weight will no longer be hang up in making the superfight happen. Canelo has long insisted on fighting below the 160-pound middleweight limit, preferring to fight at 154 or 155 pounds, but according to Gomez that's no longer an issue -- this means we could have a true middleweight champion for the first time since Sergio Martinez (Cotto never fought at 160).
