Barrera's Corner wasn't a factor in the defeat, it was stopped because of Jones

Bad comparison to Floyd's uncle entering the ring.

    Sorry for the grainy video.

Many points for anybody that could help me from getting my gifs so chopped up like this one. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

The Official DQ verdict has always bothered me, and watching the video (
Thanks, Flyyy) has me bugged even more by the thought that the DQ was no more than a way out given to MAB (who was such a darling to many at the time-- even more so than now) to avoid the blemish of a stoppage loss on his record, which, until then, remained untarnished by even just a single loss.

Testament to how affectionately Barrera was treated by boxing media, at large, were the reams of paper and gallons of ink devoted to his announced plan to step off of boxing for a while to pursue a law degree. The Ring even went so far as to suggest that Barrera study law AND continue fighting, implying that there was no one within shouting distance of his (then) weight class who could give him any sort of trouble and that Marco would have more trouble reading lawbooks than keeping his sterling record intact.

MAB was a star on and off the ring and stars were and are often given special deals, whether or not they asked for them. The DQ appears to me as one of those special deals. Barrera, as is clear in the video, was already lumber going down when his cornerman went up and rushed to him.

I couldn't agree more, but you have people comparing the two potential DQs.

Easily, Mexicans get away with everything. How many corruptions you can bring up on these guys is incredible, anyone remenber Vargas fighting Castillejo. His corner men went into the stands, and had a brawl.

The ref didn't know what to do, the bell had already rang when Barrra corner came in. He didn't know what to do because of lack of experiance. Have you ever seen that ref again? I havn't. He'll get his shot against to ref big fights but he f'ed up in this fight. I have that whole fight.

Barreras corner didn't come in to save Barrera they came in to seperate Jones from Barrera cause the bell rang and the ref wasn't doing his job. Team Barrera were puzzled that the fight was stoped and at first though they were going to continue to fight.

So, Mr Azteck, what do you think of Vargas corner men going into the stands and beating up on 50 year old Spaniards?

You are missing the details of the confrentation. I remember the cops didn't press charges on team Vargas because the man had instigated some **** with Vargas wife. So team Vargas were just protecting Varags wife and niether backed down, but team Vargas got the best of the altercation.
