Comments Thread For: Khan: Mayweather's Team Backed Out at Last Moment

British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) says his team was very close to securing a September fight with then WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs).

According to Khan, Mayweather and his team backed away from their discussions at the last minute. Instead, Mayweather finalized a deal with Khan's friend and stablemate, former champion Andre Berto.

"Close to signing a deal" means there were never any discussions for the fight in Khan-speak

OMG!!! Khan! let it go already!!! seriously!
You would not have beaten May, ... He would have knocked you out... You are barely relevant anymore, and you should really fight someone to stay relevant... stop chasing the top elite in the sport that know you can easily be knocked out. Should be looking for a Maiden or Garcia rematch instead.

a fraid of you? knock him out ? khan you got walked down by Algieri.khan has'nt done nothing at welter. something is seriously wrong with this man. if pacquiao does'nt choose him for the april fight khan is going to lose it. i mean melt down to the point where he needs mental help.

So there we have it. Mayweather pussied out again just like we all knew he would, the ****suckin b*tch. The guy ****s his pants everytime he hears Khan's name and has done for years. I heard he's had to replenish his underwear an inordinate amount of times the past few years, everytime Khan tried to fight him (which was very often lets face it).

But Khan should feel flattered that he sent Floyd running into permanent hiding, I mean it's all recorded history now in plain view for the world to see. Floyd's legacy will read "the man who was too scared of Khan to fight him" and justice is finally served. Only the Floyd fanboys and Khan haters will try to spin it like it's something else but the truth always prevail. Floyd is pu$$y to the extreme.

If Khan was like a welterweight version of a prime Tyson or the Pacquaio of 2009 or 2010, he would have a point. Not to say scared, but then Floyd could have been hesitant to fight. But Khan was exposed against Garcia, Peterson (tho he deserved decision) and earlier on vs Prescott. Having said that, don't think the other top welters are scared of him either, be it Brook, Thurman or Spence.
