how is ward coddled?
should the best fighter in his division have more influence over the terms of a fight, or the guy who makes the most money?

for the record, i think the best fight in boxing is ward - kovalev. that's at 175 lbs, on ppv, and wherever it will make the most money.
ward's people have signed a deal, made public in the hbo broadcast of bradley-rios, to do just that.

what is it about boxing that makes a grown man call another man "her?"
this sport brings out the worst in people. in the case of tunny, it's racism. the dude is a blatant racist, and has a history of racism all over the internet. it's not a coincidence that he generally hates black fighters and favors blue eyed, european ones.

- Only fights in USA
- Rejects rematches with big opponents because of above said
- He got paid top $ to fight guys like Smith, Dunn, Brand and whoever else
- I can't recall him ever being deducted points for excessive holding
- So many fights in Oakland
- Super-six tournament, everyone travelled to another country, Ward doesn't (relates to above but needs to be seperately mentioned)
- Chad Dawson comes all the way down to 168 for him, Ward shows no decency to offer to meet inbetween?
- He hardly gets any stick for wrongly taking Dan Goossen a man on his deathbed to court
I could probably think of more but honestly, do you not see all of this?

so he earns a lot of money and won't fight carl froch in england?
who else gets coddled in boxing?
the best fighters? do they generally get this high pay grade and the ability to chose where they fight to keep from getting robbed blind in europe? have oyu thought about why ward doesn't fight in europe?
chad dawson was dumb to sign a contract to fight at 168 lbs. he asked for it on national TV. they didn't go to the weight thinking they were going to be drained and lose. if you're andre ward, and a guy asks to fight at 168 for your belts, are you going to say "no, let's go an LB north, where my belts won't be on the line." a catchweight above 168 is not a 168 lb catchweight. it is a catchweight for a fight at LHW.
and finally, on goossen, andre ward had a good thing going with goossen. he secured him fights in oakland in the SS, and a final in AC [which is not oakland, but isn't in froch's backyard either.] he got him on TV and made him a lot of money. i've said for a long time that ward's to blame for his feud with goossen. somebody was in his ear talking about pay per view.
i dont' think it was a good idea to think about pay per view money and that kind of pay grade until floyd mayweather retired. he probably squandeered at least two fights on HBO or showtime with a seven figure payday.
he did, however, separate from goossen and put himself into position to become a ppv attraction in the wake of the retirement of floyd mayweather. he was right to think that goossen wasn't fit to move him as a ppv attraction, but he jumped the gun about when he should get there. the correct time was the retirement of floyd mayweather.
i'm not convinced that rocnation has the background to turn him into a star, but they've certainly got more capital than joe goossen did to back a possible PPV fighter.
RIP to goossen. he was a very good promotor. andre ward catches plenty of crap for how he handled his contracts in the wake of the super six, and he deserves.
i can't tell a lot of you apart, because you all repeat the same things you see others regurgitate. additionally, a lot of posters here are the same people with multiple accounts.
are you going to engage in some kind of meaningful discourse, or are you ehre to call andre ward a girl?

You can't deny its one unfair on the great British fans who travel that huge distance to see their man fight, Froch fought away fights and he was a bigger name fighter than Ward back then and he probably still holds more weight to his name than Ward still to this day.
There have been plenty of robberies in boxing and it certainly isn't based on location alone.
Back to the money issue, If Roc Nation signed some other name who wasn't an American gold medalist or just in general not American do you think they'd pay him so handsomely?
Then we could go back to the actual events on how Ward got that gold medal, I mean Roy Jones Jr got robbed out of his medal but Ward in the semi final was clearly whooped, dropped and bossed about all the clinching yet no stern warning...
