Whatever helps you sleep at night. Who's Golovkin's best win again?

Ben Thompson: Do you plan on packing on any extra muscle at 175 or are you good with maybe coming in smaller than some of these guys?

Andre Ward: Nah, I'm not into packing on size. I gotta cut weight to get to '75. I think a lot of people think it's a major build-up situation. There's some things you're going to different. There's some different training methods and whatnot, but I have to cut to get to '75, so it's not like I'm putting on any kind of muscle like when Roy went to heavyweight or something like that. It's not that, so I'm not really interested in size. I want to keep my speed and I want to keep my explosiveness. We'll change some things, but size is not the answer.

How does it feel knowing James DeGale is probably more relevant and higher rated in P4P ranking than Ward?
        Ooh, ouch
The further sad bit is, Hearns would happily set up DeGale to fight GGG whereas he'd tell Ward to go do one maybe it has something to do with the fact GGG isn't a poosey who will beg for DeGale and all his other opponents to fight him in USA.

Edwin Rodriguez is equal to Golovkin's best wins. FACT. Edwin Rodriguez was a tune-up for Andre Ward. FACT.

Most fanboys don't understand that there's levels to boxing. How else does Pacquiao engage in 4 close fights with Marquez ending the 4th with a nap while Floyd tunes up with Marquez? Levels. This may not be clear when rivals are fighting separate fights. It only becomes evident when they step in the ring with each other (Mayweather-Pacquiao). It's a shame Golovkin is too cowardly to fight a real man. Golovkin is a disgrace!

Yet.....he wouldn't even go to 164 for GGG or 175 for Kovalev.

I think it's about time you guys find a new basis for hating GGG as it's obvious who the real liar and coward is. Just look at the bums he was trying to drag up to 175 from 168.....that's your hero though, your boy, LMAO.

ward's people and kovalev's people are targeting a fight at 175 for late 2016.

you just need to stop talking. every time you open your mouth you say something dumb.

Now, does GGG hold a SMW belt or fight in the SMW division?

I swear, some of the arguments that people come up with are like driving a car with no brakes through a forest.....what were you thinking?
Driving a car with no breaks through the Forrest ????? Wouldn't that be the BEST place place to drive a car if u didn't have any breaks considering u wouldn't make it over 5mph with the density of trees ? .

Anyway , Like I've always said , Cotto shouldn't be holding that belt hostage at a lower weight limit , no more than GGG should be desiring him to move up and defend it , but he does desire Cotto to do that .

Rather than feed into GGG's desires to fight smaller guys , I'm sure Cotto/Canelo will vacate

my favorite was "froch fought the best."

froch fought groves twice because he needed a rematch. needed a rematch with kessler, who he could only beat when he was blind and all but retired.

groves would have been a tune up for andre ward, and none of these 10 year olds would give a proportionate amount of credit to ward for the exact same peformance in those two fights.

rodriguez was a sparring partner for froch, and by all accounts held his own and then some. his size and chin would have given froch problems, and froch's lack of handspeed and accurracy would have compounded them. there's an interview where froch talks about how good he was. rodriguez was just a prospect at the time.

in short, union jack tinted glasses doe

Most of the top guys are with Haymon : Dirrell Brothers, Degale, Badou Jack so those fights aren't happening. Abraham isn't leaving Germany, and Ramirez is being protected by Arum. So who's left? Blake Caparello? Porky Medina? There are more options for him at 175, like Kovalev, Pascal, Gonzalez. He beats Kovalev then maybe he can try and negotiate a big money fight with Stevenson in 2017(if he's still champ).

In regards to Golovkin, the fact that he has two potential unification fights available to him gives him an excuse to stay at 160 especially since the other champions aren't tied to some promotional company who won't work with HBO. You better believe his team is going to make sure he gets those fights before he moves up. But let's say Golovkin does become undisputed champion, the fans will eventually pressure him to move up too. Golovkin won't be able to stay at 160 for his whole career without facing some backlash.
                  Good post !

I guess if Ward wanted to he could use the same stale excuse as well , could u imagine "I'm Andre Ward , and I'm not leaving 168 until I unify"

Lol yeah GGG vs Cotto/Canelo winner is like Ward wanting to fight 168 fringe contenders at 175.

How is it too much different ?
If GGG is already too good and too strong for anyone in the 160 division and has already beat the best there (Murray/PePe Lemu) , how does it look chasing guys south of that division who've NEVER fought at that limit ? Thats a retorical question by the way . Hopefully Cotto nor Canelo will not fall for this bully's tricks and just vacate the damn belt .
