It's common sense that the WBC won't order negotiations to begin before a guy has a fight, they'll wait until after the fight. Povetkin has been the madatory since May. All he had to do was schedule a fight in September or October and we'd be getting this fight in January.
    You are flat out wrong and unlike you I will give you a source.

    There is article on Boxing New 24 that is dated 9-28-15. The article was written by a Tim Fletcher and it titled, "Povetkin Next for Deontay Wilder says Sulaiman." Mr Fletcher quoted the president of WBC, and I am paraphrasing, but he said in easy to understand terms that as long as Povetkin beat Wach Wilder will fight him next. He also said the the negotiations would start in October. So, unless someone lied or someone was misquoted then that was what was supposed to have happened. But its obvious it didn't.

    There was also another article on the same site dated 10-8-15. This one stated that Wilder was going to fight on 1-16-16 and as of yet he did not have an opponent. So its obvious to me that the Povetkin fight was never going to take place in January regardless of what happened in the Wach fight.

    I also just read an article on Boxing Scene stating that Wilder's team is claiming that Povetkin postponed the mandatory. You your self stated that they never negotiated the fight. So how could Povetkin possibly postpone a fight that was never negotiated or signed? Its going on November 6th so when where they planning on negotiating such a huge fight in January? Its simple they never were and it was in my opinion just a bunch of horse5hit.

    I will also say it again if Povetkin team was at fault then the WBC should tell them to bug off and make Wilder fight the best legitimate opponent that was available. But no, instead its another voluntary and I heard Arreola's name even being tossed around as a possible opponent. What a 5hit fight that would be. They better hope Chris can put down the tacos and beer long enough to even bother to show up.

      Negotiations to be held in October {6-11-15}

      Povetkin schedules a fight. The WBC says if he wins his Nov fight negotiations are to begin immediately after and completed within 30 days {9-27-15}
      //krikya360.com/wbc-deont...edium=facebook

      Povetkin's Nov 4th fight is the reason negotiations were moved from October to November. They aren't going to begin negotiations while a fighter has a fight scheduled.

      Povetkin's team tells the WBC they won't be ready for a fight in Janurary {11-4-15}
      //krikya360.com/wbc-wilde...ed-1-16--97734

      In June both Wilder and Povetkin were informed by the WBC that negotiations for their mandatory must start October for a fight to be held in January. The reason Wilder's team kept saying he's fighting in Jan. but not sure if it's going to be Povetkin or not is because they knew he had a Nov fight and wasn't sure if he would be ready.

      They were both informed in June that negotiations were to start in October, so what did Wilder do? Scheduled a fight in September. What did Povetkin do? Schedule a fight in November...that makes absolutely no sense. So now negotiations are pushed back again because Povetkin's team said they won't be ready in January.

      In order for this fight to be made in January all Povetkin had to do was schedule a fight anytime before late October. Bottom line. If you don't understand that there is nothing else to say to you.

        You provided the sources and actually I did want to read them and obviously you were not wrong. However, the article I referenced still quoted Sulaiman and stated that the Wach fight was not an issue and why? Well I suppose they knew that he wasn't remotely close to being good enough to beat Povetkin.

        They also stated that the negotiations would begin in October as I have heard countless times even well after the Wach fight was already on. And since the WBC regularly does what they want its not hard to believe that they would start negotiations even if another fight was already scheduled.

        As far as that article is cornered that was the first article I found when I googled it. I assume that Sulaiman was misquoted or things simply changed a week latter when Wilder had no opponent for 1-16. But it really no longer matters because the fight is not going happen. And I honestly don't believe it was ever going to happen on 1-16.

        I say that only because how could they negotiate a fight into the middle of December and then go to a purse bid for a fight that will most likely be in Mother Russia on January 16th. Hell, you have to wonder if some if not all of Wilder's team would need passports and that is a hell of a process in itself.

        As far as who is at fault I blame the WBC themselves. They should have told Povetkin to nix the Wach fight because it obviously was an issue. And if the WBC wants to blame Team Povetkin that is fine. But if they do, and this was my point all along, then they should kick them to curb and have Wilder fight a legitimate fight against a worthy opponent and no more voluntaries.

        And if it was a mandatory against the next available ranked opponent then Wilder would never have to fight Sasha unless he really wanted to. And I'm not convinced that he actually does.
