Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo Wasn't Ready For Mayweather in '13

In 47 professional outings, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has a lone loss, which came against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 14th, 2013 where he lost a clear cut decision over twelve rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. At the age of 23, Alvarez went up against the era's best boxer.

The question is: was he ready to handle such a task?

Quit lying Oscar. The whole Team Canelo was confident it was their time to get rich.

Where the hell is the videos/pictures of Canelo's brother showing a tattoo saying Canelo would be the champion on the date they fought?

sure oscar whatever u say. all you kept saying before the fight was mayweather was going to lose to ur fighter then u ended up in rehab. if he wasnt ready u shouldnt of signed him to fight mayweather u obviously thought he had a real chance to win or it would not of happened. then again oscar was so busy snorting drugs in lead up to mayweather canelo that i doubt he even remembers. All i hear is excuse a bunch of bull**** excuses like every other time mayweather beat someone. according to people on nsb mayweather has never won a fight. I have never heard so many excuses for one fighters opponents in my life its almost laughable
