Caribe Blocked Rigo vs. Lomachenko From Happening

    According to Bob Arum:

“I would die to do that fight,” Arum told USA TODAY Sports. “And I was willing to go into my pocket to do it. The deal I offered was each fighter would get $500,000 and the winner would get $500,000. It’s not Rigondeaux (stopping the fight), it’s (his promoter) Caribe. Todd (duBoef) talks to them every couple of weeks.

“I would love to do it next year and I think I have a spot for it. We would do it in Toronto on HBO or Monte Carlo and let HBO do an afternoon show. I would pay money to see that fight.”

I want to feel sorry for Rigondeaux, but I have no idea how hard he has worked or is working to get away from them.

Beginning to think Caribe are Cuban govt agents sent to ruin Rigo's career for defecting.

Because there's no way in hell these guys are boxing promoters.

I think if more people knew this & Arum was willing to be contractually obligated to this outcome this fight could get made just due to the critical mass of people moving mountains to make it happen.

                They are the absolute worst.

Can't promote worth a crap so they are always looking for a co-promoter, but I'm sure they never take less money because of it.

                  Why is that?

It's no different than the KO bonus or fight of the night bonus that UFC gives. It gives each fighter incentive to work that much harder.

The difference is that those fights are under one entity. It isn't a guy fighting in bellator against a ufc fighter and the winner gets that bonus. With all the bs connected with boxing, I can't blame Caribe too much for not taking this offer. No matter how much I'd love to see this fight.
