Comments Thread For: Sanchez Ponders Reaction To Golovkin Getting Rocked

New York City - Trainer Abel Sanchez is not overlooking IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31KOs).

Later tonight, Sanchez's star fighter, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 31KOs), will stake his WBA/IBO middleweight titles against Lemieux in a unification showdown from a sold-out Madison Square Garden. Their fight will headline a four-bout HBO Pay-Per-View event.

It will be interesting to see GGG's reaction to being knocked down; however, my prediction is that if GGG is floored by Lemieux, it (the knockdown) will finally release the tiger from within GGG giving us our first look at the absolute fury of which GGG is capable, but has so far kept in check.

If there is one middleweight out there who can hurt Golovkin it is Lemieux.
        Lets see what happens!

I don't so I think GGG has another gear he can take it to.

This guys Handlers, Fans and himself are making him out to be this Ultimate boxer that was brought it from the another universe to bless us with his talents. Ohhh please, yes hes good and hell probably win, but come on, ive been seeing boxing for over 25 years, nothing new, just a good boxer/puncher!! Ive seen manyyyy of these types of fighter over the years " Just another one" so please lets stop the hype!! The day he beats the likes of Ward, May and even Cotto in an extraordinary fashion, then we can put him in the top, but for now, ummm, not yet his resume says close to nothing!! Not knocking he isnt good, but for now hes not yet proven!! Knocking out regular joes means nothing!!

True, and it's no coincidence that the MMA sites are covering this like it was a ufc fight.

Though I have no faith in Lemieux, Golovkin reacts poorly to being hit. It's the same way Canelo sometimes does, just pausing to gather his thoughts with no mind for counterpunching or moving. IF (and that's a big if) Lemieux is fearless and puts together some slick combos I think we could see an upset. I just don't see him having it in him though.

I know the middleweight Division is weak right now and i want GGG to fight the winner of Cotto/Canelo and after that Andre Ward. But GGG is not just one of these regular punchers. Hes no Jeff Lacy! But Andre ward is doing nothing right now, nobody cares about Ward right now, he has to get his career back on track first. We dont even know if he stays at SMW or moves up to LHW.

I imagine Golovkin fans repeating those lies to themselves over and over until they finally believe them. Meanwhile, the entire boxing community is on fire to see Golovkin fight the "irrelevant" Ward. For a guy no one cares about, Ward brings more interestthan anyone Genady could be fighting. Genady ducked, live with it.
