Unless you got an agenda it makes no sense for GGG to fight Ward. To start GGG would have to jump up in weight. Makes all the sense in the world to build his PPV power vs another champ at his current weight, fight one of the biggest names in boxing at his current weight after in Canelo or Cotto & probably a solid chance he'll fight the loser after that just cuz thats a ****load of money too. And probably all on PPV. Then he can go up to 168 & call the shots vs Ward & Ward & Roc Nation will be the ones yaying or naying GGG & his peoples offers & thinking how ***y 40% is.

Meanwhile while GGG is making moves, Ward is holding his **** fighting fringe contenders as the co-main or to 5k fans in his home arena. I mean Ward is a bad mfer. GGG isn't exactly an unbad mfer himself either & all the heat right now is on GGG after Ward fumbled all the heat he had post-Super Six tournament.

Why was team GGG looking to bully a guy who is 2 divisions below him? I really don't understand why people don't hold all boxers to the same standards.

        I'm a GGG supporter

but, I see some facts that cannot be overlooked.

        1) There's been no real intention of negotiation from both sides.
GGG's team: 50% everything and a CW (BS offer, the catchweight is the bad point here)

Ward's Team: unknown split, but I suspect they accepted 50-50 and a 2 fight from now deal( BS offer, how come you want anyone accept this offer, knowing GGG is close to unify MW a becoming a potential PPV star, so in two fights GGG may well be a "big star" and have the best scenario posible for negotiations)

        2) Ward has been always a tough mofo to deal with in negotiations(just as Cotto)

        3) GGG' Team don't really want this fight, that is a fact. there's been talks and youtube-call outs from both camps about 4 years now(i would love to show all the youtube videos that I have seen to date, sorry I'm lazy). I suspect that is Abel Sanchez the one not wanting this fight, because I can almost assure that GGG himself would fight Ward tomorrow.

        4) Is a shame that we can´t have this fight now. Let's hope GGG unifies ASAP. and moves up to SMW and Ward could fight there.

I'm really piss with this situation, but then I just think that we must enjoy the ride and see how this plays out.

Signing to fight Ward 2 fights from now with a 50/50 split when GGG will be worth more money and Ward will be coming off 2 tune ups.
There's no promoter/manager/advisor in the world who would sign a deal like that.
Can't blame Ward for trying, I guess. Wonder if the contract was wrote up in crayon? lol

Look, nobody wants to fight the best guy in the weight division above.

                Ward don wanna fight Kovalev.

                GGG don wann fight Ward.

No 147 fighter in their right mind would fight GGG at 154, like Thurman.

There's no supa lightweights calling out Thurman.

They're all the same. GGG has earned his spot. Ward on the otherhand has fallen out of his. GGG is the one with the upperhand. Once upon a time, perhaps.

GGG hasn't done much as a professional fighter. At least when compared to the standards-based of most greats. That said, he has managed to bring the term "unify" back to prominence for the first time since the 90s, the early 00s at the latest. I mean honestly, the last time I can remember people giving a rat's ass about unification was DK's middleweight tourney. And that was basically a gimmick to set up a "superfight" waste of time between Roy Jones and Tito. And after Hopkins did his thing, it basically became an afterthought. I mean, to my knowledge, Hopkins-DLH was the first, and maybe only fight for all four ABC belts and that's nothing more than a pretty much forgotten footnote in history. Unification was a theme for Tsyzu-Judah. And a lil for Mayorga-Spinks. But all that unification stuff was pretty much dead by the mid-00s.

I say all that to say GGG's have latched onto this unification crap and act like its relevant in today's boxing. The ABC organizations are a joke. Which is further validated by what tool place in Cincinnati this past weekend. If I cared enough. I'm sure I could find some of these "unification" idiots bashing this past weekend's events. The fact is, this unification crap only became the primary fovus when Ward came calling. Its a lame excuse that is just one of many at tjis point

In the past, unification was a big deal because in thr 80s and 90s, great fighters held belts simultaneously and superfights were often the result. GGG-Lemieux isn't a superfight. GGG-Lee isn't a superfight. Hell, the circumstances that allowed Lemieux to even win a belt are borderline criminal. So the notion that GGG is doing something historic, or even relevant, is a complete joke. And anyone who tries to pass it off as something historic or great is an even bigger joke.

They turned down an offer. Big ***ing deal. Offers get turned down evey day. Ward must be turning down offers because he has no fight right now. Boxing is a business and fighting Ward makes zero business sense. The fight with Lemieux was set and after that if GGG beats Lemieux he has an excellent chance to fight the Canelo-Cotto winner in a lucrative unification fight. They trash GGG's opposition yet he is the one fighting a champion while Ward fights unranked Smith. Instead of trying so hard to fight a man in a lower weight class Ward should start fighting the top 10 168 pounders. That is something Ward did years ago but stopped doing when Haymon took over. I wonder if Ward's next opponent will be a top 10 guy or not. GGG is fighting a champion and wants to fight another champion after that.

the search engines were to talk about how serious ppl took the fight, you brought ratings, that defines popularity on who watches the fight....try harder
