While I do agree that a good ref is needed, KOvalev showed he can prevent people from hugging and clinching in the Hopkins fight. Throw a quick hook on the inside when they come in head first. It's good that KOvalev keeps is feet so far apart too, it give him extra reactionary time when someone lunges in or tries to initiate a clinch he can take a step back and counter.

I'm sure he will get millions. It seems like his minimum with ROC Nation is 2 million or so...but that doesn't mean HBO is going to splurge on the lisencing fees for these tune-ups. It most likely means that Roc Nation will have to come out of pocket again to pay Ward.
