Comments Thread For: Edner Cherry is Very Convinced He Beat Jose Pedraza

A couple of days after the fact, Edner Cherry (34-7-2, 19KOs) is more than convinced that he did more than enough to take the IBF super featherweight title from Jose Pedraza in Cincinnati, Ohio. Despite out-working and out-landing the Puerto Rican on Saturday night he came out on the short end of the stick. A large majority of observers believe that Cherry should've had his hands raised in victory.

if he thought he won he would have acted like he won this was a fight to win his first title and by his expression he knew he lost fight was close but Pedraza won the fight 7 rounds to 5

More like he understood that the promotional powers see Pedraza as the one to get behind and market, and not complain because he'd be given another shot if he did well but didn't win. just like Pac and bradley are part of the same team, but both knew not to scream robbery even when blatant..

I am Puertorican just like you (I am assuming that because of your nickname), but you have to admit that Pedraza lost that fight. Just like Rocky Martinez lost his a couple of weeks ago.

All I could give Pedraza were rounds 2, 3, 4, and 5 and maybe, just maybe, round 11. Every other round was Cherry's.

          I thought Cherry edged it.

Cherry is one of my favourite fighters so, unsurprisingly, I thought he won the fight. I didn't think it was a robbery though. I literally had him winning the fight 6-5-1, so the fact that he lost wasn't surprising or egregious imo.

That being said, of course I think Cherry stops him in a rematch, but like I said, I'm a big fan.

I sat damn near ringside, and I thought he clearly won too.
