Ronda does not need Floyd to boost her popularity. her last PPV hit over 1 million buys on her name alone as she was the only main event and it was in Brazil to boot. Her next PPV will also surpass 1 million buys and will probably set records for attendance in Australia. And that card will he headlined by TWO women's matches.

Did anyone ever consider that UFC would be a bigger draw, both live and on PPV than boxing? And how would people have freaked out if they had been told that not only would UFC overshadow boxing but that they would do it with FEMALE fighting stars?

It speaks more to the idiocy of the casual fan than anything else. If all the UFC has going for it is being popular and 'progressive' then it really isn't much of a sport.

I don't care if boxing becomes unpopular. In fact all the better. Boxing is an old school sport and doesn't fit in with modern times. If it's in the spotlight it will be forced to change (no doubt for the worse) and that would be unfortunate.

Take Floyd out of the equation and them compare PPV stats over the past few years between boxing and UFC and tell me which has sold more PPVs.

And it is amazing that a boxing fan cannot also appreciate and enjoy watching UFC matches around here. I grew up learning Martial Arts and I happen to be a fan of ALL Martial Arts. I will watch wrestling, boxing, judo, karate, kick boxing, MMA, you name it, I will enjoy watching it.

I will not apologize for not being locked into one combat sport like most of the Neanderthals around here. Then again, many of the posters here don't have two brain cells to rub together so they really cannot be expected to have more than one sport to follow.

Floyd was the favorite in all those fights by a large margin, and over 90 plus percent of people picked him to win. I have no clue where this "Everyone hates Floyd, and it's Floyd against the world" come from. I guess because a small percentage of people go against Floyd it bothers flowmoes and they have to stick up for their man lol

**** ufc, and mma is the biggest joke on the planet just look whos their most popular champion a women who wouldnt hold a 10 second fight with any of their male "fighters" . Any boxing champ would KO any ufc champ within 2 combinations, trust me it would be so fast they wouldnt even know what happened, I seen it at the gym more than once.

Cant stand watching mma they have no form, no defense, no head movement, they dont even throw punches the proper way and dont even get me started on the gay wrestling. I would wathc kickboxing all day over gay ass ufc, I thought this was a boxing forum??

Exactly. It's barely above wrestling as a sport. Unfortunately there are a lot of pretend boxing "fans" here who just come here to **** on people.

Professional boxers are simply on another level. MMA/UFC "fighters" are basically amateurs and all the flash and glitz of the sport doesn't hide it.
