Comments Thread For: Andy Lee: I Want Golovkin Next, He'd Beat Mayweather

WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24KOs) was scheduled to face his mandatory defense against Billy Joe Saunders. The fight got postponed, twice. There is no new date as of yet with Saunders, and Lee is already looking ahead at a unification fight.

On October 17th, WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) will face IBF king David Lemieux (34-2, 32KOs) in a unification. And then on November 21, WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will defend his title against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

floyd makes golovkin look silly for 12 rounds.. he'll punch the air a lot. but then the groupies will say he was drained.. pointless fight, nothing to gain.

Damn,I already called something like this in another thread. GGG-Lemieux in October, GGG- Lee in late January/ early February, and GGG- canelo/cotto in may/June. By mid 2016 golovkin could be the lineal,unified/undisputed middlewieght champ.

          Good analysis, I agree.

I hope Golovkin-Lee comes to fruition, we're incredibly close to seeing an Undisputed Champion.

Who was the last one? Hopkins? Although I'd say Klitschko is the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, he just doesn't have the WBC belt that Wilder/Haymon are milking for a bit.

Then again, Klitschko is about to get wrecked by Too Fast Fury.

like u said about klit..i already know ggg is the champ of that division..im ready to feel like that about him at 168..lee is meaningless..cotto/canelo are not ****ing mw's if 155 is going to keep going..and they likely wont be dicated to until they are ready..he can become money without them..i hope he dares to go own 168 i'll buy any ppv he wants me to buy then bc he likely couldnt pick a bad one

Lee would be a good challenge for GGG, but GGG most likely wins, just to many intangibles in his favor. Lee's lefty, gritty, pretty good chin, and devastating hook will give GGG something to think about. I've said in another thread though that I wouldn't mind seeing Cotto vs. Lee, I think it's a good fight for both.

GGG facing Lemule, Lee, and Cotto/Canelo winnner all in a row is not going to happen as much as I want it to happen. He'll probably fight Chudinov (No not that one) or Heiland next. Maybe Eubank Jr unless he plans on keeping that paper belt locked in the UK.

WBC said they are behind an immediate Golovkin-Cotto/Canelo winner.

Andy Lee should fight Danny Jacobs in the meantime. He would get a KO over Jacobs most likely plus he would get to hold that WBA 'regular' belt that Jacobs holds then that would solidify a shot at Golovkin through the WBA.
