It would be hard to criticize Floyd if he was seen to take a risk. He has been fighting quite a long time, being lauded as the best. Yet has NEVER ever done anything his peers haven't already done. He fought Pac, but JMM already fought him 4 times. He fought Canelo, but so did old man SSM without a CW. Floyd needs to do something others haven't and he needs to take a risk. GGG at 160. At 154 he would get criticized. But Floyd has always said its about the money and not legacy anyway.

Who here would criticize Mayweather if he fought GGG?

Floyd told the public that he fights them healthy; that would be counter to his public stance. GGG is dominant at 160 - the glory in fighting GGG is at 160, not at 154

Since people are bringing up the matter of weight - I've generally been fine with the idea of May/GGG @ 154.
Of course if we heard that May was willing to step to GGG @ 160, we'd all lose our **** 10x over, which is why it would leave a bigger impression if he did that. At either weight, it would still have been Mayweather taking on a massive risk against a naturally larger man who is riding a 20KO streak, has no professional losses, is generally considered the best in his division, and who has a strong amateur background. That deserves a great deal of respect in of itself. As long as GGG didn't come onto the scale and into the ring looking like ODLH against Pacquiao, there wouldn't be a reason to doubt the quality of the victory. "Running" isn't a reason to discredit a victory, it might not be the most entertaining thing, but it wouldn't take away from how big a victory it would be.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 09-03-2015, 05:48 PM.

Too strong, too prime, too much kill and too many skills.
boy you crazy. you think a 32 year old fighter is gonna be able to drop down to a weight class he has never fought at as a pro and be the same fighter?
ggg would be weaker and slower at 154 and a corpse at 147. Floyd would canelo ggg at 154 or lower
