I can admit as a Ward fan, THAT is the guy that worries me the most as far as guys at 175 because like you said he can fight inside and get rugged inside but also look at the way he is built, he is more compact with a very strong build so pushing him around will be a struggle for him


Ward likely have to work from the outside vs Beterbiev! Arthur Abraham was one of the few who did a great job vs Ward inside game and stopping his clinches an to Ward Credit he switched up and beat Abraham from the outside. However with Beterbiev he can not only fight inside but he can also walk you down and cut the ring out and he lets his hands go way more than Abraham does. That is not taking anything away from, Kovalev, Stevenson or others because all will be very Difficult fights but stylistically Beterbiev could be the hardest to deal with for Ward

You dont even believe that Brush. This isn't GGG. This is an even bigger beast. Ward could possibly bully a 5'10 160 Golovkin but Krusher is gonna be a whole different animal.

Ward has every advantage over Kovalev except for punching power and maybe height.

People in this thread talking about how Kovalev will just manhandle or "ragdoll" Ward are seriously underestimating Andre's strength and in the process of getting ready for this fight, I expect he'll close that gap a bit a bit more.

Just as I expect Ward will be stronger @lhw than he was at smw, it also looks to me like Kovalev continues to improve his boxing skills.

Like somebody else in here said, this is the best fight that can be made atm with the possible exception of Hi-Tech vs El Chacal.

Hope it happens next year.

IMO ward outboxes kov...ward has the subtle skills of bhop, more physically gifted than pascal, and you can't measure his poise n concentration

Pasacal is all about physical gift by nature. Ward does not come close to him in that aspect. Pascal is faster, bigger, stronger and has better chin.

And Ward fought only b+ caliber European fighters in Abraham and Kessler and b++ in Froch. Rest are bigger tomato cans than GGG ones...

I think so.

I think Ward-Kovalev will resemble the Canelo VS Trout/Lara fights, where a few hardcore wannabe "purists" will claim victory for Ward, while Kovalev put rounds in the bank outworking Ward with cleaner, harder punches.

And sure, we'll have a bit of a scuffle for a few days, with a major push-back from those who thought Kovalev won, then things will settle and Kovalev will go down in the books as the better man.
