Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Rejects Rehydration Clause For Rigondeaux

krikya360.com caught up with Egis Klimas to get an update on the status of a potential fight between two-time Olympic gold medalists Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigodeaux. Lomachenko is the WBO featherweight titleholder while Rigondeaux holds the WBO and WBA's super bantamweight belts.

Rigondeaux's team accepted Klimas' (who manages Lomachenko) proposition for the historic showdown but with the condition that the fight take place at a catchweight of 124 pounds with a maximum rehydration clause of 134 pounds.

Good. Why does Rigondeaux need a rehydration clause? He is more than good enough to move up 4lbs

All these so called Boogeymen eventually get found out with these silly demands.

Why? doesn't he only rehydrate between 134-136lbs anyway?

No rehydration clause is a good thing Lomas already succumbed to a 124lb clause. He's a double Gold medalist as well so that should be enough leverage. Hopefully Rigo ain't a diva in this negotiation process.

Good. If Rigo needs a catchweight and rehydration clause then he can just stay at 122 and fight someone else.

This is what we call "calling a kettle black". Rigo tops out at about 124-125 in the ring, and loma weighs in at 135-136,so that's a 10-12 lb difference. On the other hand Walters weighed in at 145 for his last fight, so he would only have 9-10 lbs on loma. Loma and his team have publicly come out and said that they wouldn't fight Walters because he's too big,and they wouldn't entertain a catchweights or a rehydration clause. So Walters would be to big for loma with a 9 lb weight advantage, but rigo is a coward for not agreeing to fight loma when he'd be outweighed by 10-12 lbs?
