Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., says his nephew has no business facing WBA/IBO middleweight king Gennady "GGG" Golovkin - unless the fight takes place at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds.
Golovkin and his team members have mentioned the idea of dropping down to 154-pounds to face Mayweather, who does hold the WBC/WBA titles at junior middleweight. Mayweather has not fought in a junior middleweight contest in over two years, and that fight against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez took place at a catch-weight of 152-pounds.
