PBC trying to get their own set of belts sanctioned, good or bad idea?

So the PBC entity is trying to get their own set of belts sanctioned and ready to be made available to fight for.

How well do you think they will fit in with the current belts as far as prestige goes when it comes to title belts?

I think it'll work flawlessly due to the sheer amount of fighters that fight under the PBC banner. Everyone is gonna want a crack at those belts imo.

Many fighters but not enough to make it logical to create belts/weightclasses. If they deal with HBO too and allow all the fighters to join and they would transform into a boxing version of UFC I would be okay with it but till then, no it's not a good idea. Too many fighter separated from the PBC fighters too many fight won't get made ever. The tendency is already this but a separate PBC belt would just strengthen this since then they wouldn't even fight against mandatory challengers from alphabet organizations which was the only single way in the past few years where TR and Haymon could agree besides Pacquiao-Mayweather which is a rare exception I guess I don't have to explain why.

Nah, it would be a worthless trinket. Like a joke shop belt.
Boxing is already saturated with titles. Way too many...adding more to the mix only makes things worse.

The sport doesn't need more belts or more sanctioning bodies. It needs to consolidate all bodies into one, have 1 world champ in each division.

I would like to see weights adjusted for all classes.

i'm in favour of the wbc, wbo, wba and ibf being undermined and kicked out of boxing, but i'm sceptical of having a single organisation acting as manager, promoter and sanctioning body, like pbc apparently aim to do.

PBC having it's own belts is consistent with Haymon's strategy: i.e. imposing his own ('new') system by destroying the ('old') system from within...

... Eventually, 'Tradition' will prevail -- with Haymon winning or not winning his battle... But in case Haymon manages to 'unify' the belt system, I really don't care if he's got the 'monopoly' or not... The goal of having a unified champion in each weight division is the right goal...

(but in case PBC would end by settling the '5th belt', it would be plain bullshit...)

How many weight classes are there?

Haymon's got 3 legit titleholders? One of which is the same guy for 2 divisions. The other is Stevenson.

Nobody would consider his titles legit anyway just more useless crap, I'd bet you that at the next Stevenson fight there's going to be no mention of Kovalev (or possibly Ward), Quillin winning another 160 trinket but there's going to be no mention of Cotto/GGG/Canelo...

Bad idea at the moment but if they some how got the majority of fighters on board then it would start to make sense.

He is trying to make a UFC style comp but Im guessing everyone else will work together and bring him down before it happens.

They should really just do it WWE style, story based, fake fights. Its very lucrative.
