Glad Broner got his ass kicked. Dude blows up between fights and when he doesn't have the size advantage he can't do anything. Porter did well but could improve on things. He gets smothered too easily. Great win for a great guy. Hope Porter gets something big next. Broner needs to stay his ass in the gym and stop being so lazy.

If you thought this fight was close, you're the problem with boxing. The fact that the commentators were saying this fight was close or like 3-2 going into the sixth is crazy. This fight was like Sergio Martinez and JCC Jr. Broner did nothing but clinch, elbow and forearm for 11 rounds. Kind of a joke that boxing has a new system of judging fights where a guy wins a round just for landing some clean shots while completely doing everything to avoid actually throwing punches.
Points:
Broner should have had points deducted until he stopped with the dirty tactics.
Broner needs to never fight above 140 btw...
Porter dominated the fight if you had this fight close, then you need to reexamine wtf you were watching.
Boxing nowadays has turned into the fighter who turns into the "boxer" aka the guy who does whatever he can to avoid having to actually fight wins the round if he can land a few clean punches...

It's not even fun watching him lose anymore because he is so lost and confused in his identity and style. Add to that the horrific clinch-for-his-life/forearms-to-the-face tactic he was using (is that what Floyd was teaching him?), and that fight was horrendous. If he had actually fought in his true style - an aggressive boxer-puncher - that fight could have been awesome and he would have had more success. Yet his team have rendered him into some inert idiot, fighting a style ill-suited to him because Floyd does it.
I normally think the changing of the trainer is a convenient excuse but he badly needs it. Think how much better he would be under Roach - someone who preaches offence and gives his fighters clear instructions/identity.
But Broner is too far-gone. He's not mentally equipped for this sport. Even style-wise - he struggles against movers because of his feet. But neither can he cope with effective aggressors either. So he's basically screwed.

I'm happy for Porter, he truly had to work for that victory and he deserved it. Those forearms, elbows, clinches, and leaning and pressing drain you of energy and the 144 didn't help either, and still Porter outworked and out hustled Broner.
Broner is still a good fighter tho; he has good physical attributes and he shows flashes of good ability, but then he'll turn into a bar room brawler. He should've had more than the 1 point taken away.
