Comments Thread For: Scott Quigg: Frampton Ran Out of Options in The UK

Scott Quigg says he will produce a devastating performance in his WBA World Super Bantamweight title defence against Kiko Martinez at the Manchester Arena on July 18, live on Sky Sports.

Quigg defends his title against former IBF king Martinez that claimed his first World title in impressive style in August 2013 with a stoppage win over Jhonatan Romero in Atlantic City, before standout stoppage wins in defences over Jeffrey Mathebula and Hozumi Hasagawa.

Bury champion Quigg knows he’s in for the sternest test of his reign against the Spaniard enjoying a renaissance in his career, but the 26 year old has predicted that his fifth defence will be his best yet.

I'd say its Quigg who is running out of options. Hearn has stopped a potential super fight and, at the same time, instilled doubt in Quigg about his ability as a fighter (comments re. Rigondeaux)

As WBA #1 contender @ 122Lb, should Quiggy not be sounding out Mr Rigo?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

I think half off the uk wants kiko to win, and thats saying somthing. I rate kiko, yeah he might hook a bit much, maybe he needs some straight uppecuts but he's hard to hit cause you dont know where his heads going to be.

Im glad hearns made this fight cause joe gallagher takes the pi.ss with his choice of opponents, he's building up domestic level fighters to be more than what they are. You have to be able to take a punch, and be durable yet none of his guys have proven that. Quigg will probably be knocked out and noone gives a crap anyway, how crolla is going to deal with perez's strength is also a bit of a joke. Other smith ducks fielding and all the smiths dont realy fight anyone or I dont know what they do tbh hahaha Im not complaining about paul smith fighting ward, he will get ko'd but theyre domestic level, he cant crack an egg lets face it i mean realy! lol. Youve got liam smith he pulled out against jones.....callum hasnt fought anyone with any malice at all, questionable if he could even beat jack. I mean realy, and the other one who boxes with the hands down, he narrowly beat a noboddy. looooooool

I was hoping that quigg would box on the back foot cause he'd definately loose if he did that, but now he's going to push forward and try and do what munroe did, thats ok cause he doesnt have the chin to do that. Everyones saying quigg is super strong but he's not, he's fighting small guys coming off of innactivity or losses.

Hearn and Al have a very good relationship so I hope it reignites negotiations between these two foes.
