One thing you have to respect Al Haymon for!

I know he gets a bad rap on here but he really does care for his fighters. I saw a Showtime piece awhile back and they said how much Haymon cares for his fighters. He calls them his sons and he advises them how to invest their money so they won't go broke. As boxing isn't really governed and no one really looks out for the fighters in the overall landscape, it's good to see someone looking out for the fighters. You always see sad stories about boxers going broke and Haymon is trying to stop that sad trend. There is a reason why a lot of fighters are signed with him. Bravo Haymon, but now it's time to start making mouth watering fights that we want to see on PBC.

People ignore the fact that he does not rip his fighters off and takes care of them financially. I think this may also be why posters hate him as i see them mad about how much money his fighters make.

Strangley,I'm divided on this. While I'd hate to see a fighter put in blood, sweat and tears into the sport, only to end up being broke,I don't want to see him get his pockets filled, while only fighting taxi drivers. I see haymon turning his fighters into spoiled children, because they get paid large amounts in order to fight c and d level fighters (Guerrero got paid a million for fighting a pizza delivery guy),and they expect to be paid millions for actually doing what they're supposed to be doing, and fighting the best out there. A quick example would be Santa Cruz wanting 3 million to face rigo, and quillin doesn't even want to hear about facing ggg until the fight has garnered "mayweather Pacquiao" type publicity and money. That being said,I don't want fighters to end up broke like Tyson,so I'm 50-50 on this

Nope. Glad the fighters are making money, but they should be making good money fighting each other, not taking on no-hopers. That way you would be doing a service to BOTH the fighters and the integrity of the sport. But the sport has no integrity when under the guidance of Mr. Al Haymon. He's the worst thing to ever happen to contemporary boxing as a sport.

Why not make the best fights possible while making money at the same time? I respect that he gets his fighters paid, I just don't like that they're fighting club fighters to do it. If we were in an era where fighters fought 5-6 times a year then I would not have a problem with a couple easy W's a year to stay busy. However, we're in an era where fighters rarely fight more than twice a year so each of those fights are more precious.

It goes without saying that Al's a great business man, his success speaks for itself. But he's not a good boxing head. He's bad at developing fighters and building anticipation for the events. He needs guys like Eric Gomez and Carl Morretti to run his show.

I've said this a thousand times, but gets ignored by a lot of people here who for some reason hate Haymon.

At the very least the guy is trying to bring boxing back to the mainstream and risking money to do so.
Again how many times did Arum go on and on about bringing back boxing to national TV only to do nothing. Oscar tried but all we got was crappy cards on fox deportes and fox 1.
Haymon is getting named fighters on national TV in pretty competitive fights.

Is it perfect? Of course not. But then again no fan is harder to satisfy than the boxing fan.

Of course Haymon gets his fighters top money because he gets a big piece of that money. He runs PBC and is in charge of how much they make and the more they get, the more his percentage works out to be. He is not doing this out of the goodness of his heart, he is doing it to pad his own bank account.

But there is ABSOLUTELY NO conflict of interest going on there at all.

Is good to know that Haymon started a charity for "his" fighters. Now all of them will come to him am set up a guild of some sort.

Let me know when Haymon starts risking HIS money and not the money of investors. When the money for PBC runs out, Haymon will have 10s of millions in his own account that he made as his percentage of his fighters' purses. If Haymon cares about boxing and his fighters, when that eventually happens, who here thinks Haymon will start investing his own money to keep things going? Anyone?
