Comments Thread For: Khan: If Algieri Fought Pac That Way, He Might Have Won

BROOKLYN - Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike returned to Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Friday night with another explosive night of bouts for fight fans. In the main event, Amir "King" Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) scored a crafty and hard fought unanimous decision over Chris Algieri (20-2, 8 KOs) and Javier Fortuna (28-0-1, 20 KOs) won a crowd-pleasing unanimous decision victory over Bryan Vasquez (34-2, 18 KOs) in the televised opener.

    AMIR KHAN

"I thought I worked well inside. I've never done a lot of work in the pocket like that and I plan to do more of that in the future.

"I give Chris a lot of credit. He came forward a lot more than we thought he would and he had a big chin tonight. [Click Here To Read More]

i dont think he wud have won, but he'd have made it close

credit is owed to john david jackson for working out a gameplan and studying his opponents

john clearly watched the lemont petterson fight

but end of the day the boxer with the skills always finds a way to win

I knew this would come, I was expecting Khan to go this route too, now he's gonna blow up Algieri.

If Algieri Fought Pac That Way, He would have been knocked out. He fought that way against Khan because Khan is not Pacquiao.

Pac was gonna KO him if he fought that way, Khan trying to big up Algieri because he can't comprehend not being as great as he thought he was.

              Not a convincing win.

No, it would have been more one sided. If Algieri had engaged Pacquiao it would have been a short night. John David Jackson can't fix his chin and claiming he would have made a difference against Pacquiao is preposterous at best.

Khan didn't look good against an opponent that he should have beaten far more decisively. No spinning can change that fact.

Khan's done! Chris will be more effective if he moves to 154 or 160, IMO and Khan needs to stay at 140. Floyd will knock him out!

I often forget that Pac forced Algieri to a catch-weight of 144. Algieri wanted 147 and Algieri struggled to make that weight. Had to hit the scale three times. Not saying he would have won, but may have actually won a few rounds that night.
