Comments Thread For: Cortez: No Rematch, Mayweather-Pacquiao Wasn't Close

Retired Hall of Fame referee Joe Cortez has worked some of the biggest fights in the history of the sport and handled several contests involving both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Cortez now works as an expert analyst for ESPN Deportes.

Cortez expressed his feelings regarding the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao matchup. Cortez had it scored very wide in favor of Mayweather and sees no reason for a rematch.

Fans waited five to six years for the fight to happen. Cortez says it's to move on, forget any talk of a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch and look forward to other contests. [Click Here To Read More]

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, But its all about Money!
Let Floyd fight this Sept and see how much he's gonna earn, then let them think if a rematch is possible or not.

Floyd can fight for free in September and still be sitting pretty. He made more on this fight than he ever need to make on any other fight. He should fight a freebie for Pac sake.

The only satisfactory result for some people is a Mayweather loss. Love him or hate him in the ring Mayweather has proved himself. The media has been hyping the next Floyd conquerer for a long time but getting the same result. Mayweather can not complain because they made him rich through their hatred.

Cortez is damn right!!! Wasn't close. Floyd is too far from Pac. He's a faster runner by miles.

Anyone with a working pair of eyes knows it wasn't close.

                    Anyone who says otherwise either:

                    A) Can't score a fight
                    B) Is a rabid Pac fan
                    C) Wants Mayweather to lose so desperately that they simply say he loses rounds and fights that he clearly wins.

No rematch, no redemption for Manny, he's now and always will be the inferior boxer of the two.
