Hagler had a very good reach for someone his size, he wasn't the biggest of middles but he had a 75' reach and arguably the greatest southpaw jab, I don't see what range Golovkin will be able to operate from in this fight. Then you add the fact that Hagler was near impossible to hurt, very resilient, too well conditioned and I honestly don't see a chance for Golovkin.
Hagler did have some closer than expected fights with guys around Golovkin's level. It's not like it's completely impossible, but based on what we've seen so far it's unlikely. Hagler should be a huge favorite in this hypothetical situation.
Same wrinkles I seen in the Ouma fight but hey guess he was ill again.
The guys overrated its plain and simple, if people can't see it then I don't know what to say.
Its glaringly obvious he is limited as hell, his defense sucks and so on. Reality is he is a flat version of Roman Gonzalez with not 1/4 of the talent.
He is good, he is strong, he hits ****ing hard but elite? Unbeatable? and all this, absolutely not. A good fighter in a dead division.
Winning is good, its the main thing but those flaws will show up again and if its against a legitimate world class fighter his power might not bail him out.
He isn't worthy of being put in the same sentence as Hagler not that many are but its just absurd and the worrying thing is you have people genuinely brainwashed enough to think GGG knocks him out.

danCov I agree with you but thats true in ALL the divisions. All the champs are not elite!
Watching Rigo & Chocolitito are the exceptions! The rest including Wlad & Floyd are getting by with picking opponents who don't come to fight.
They don't put their balls down and give everything they have. A guy like Maidana is not supposed to go the distance let alone bash around a so-called great fighter!
It's not easy being great and their not arpound every generation!
