Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - Coming back from a one year layoff, Peter Quillin (31-0-1, 22KOs) and Andy Lee (34-2, 24KOs) battled to a twelve round draw, in a fight where both fighters tasted the canvas. The scores were 113-112 for Lee, 113-112 for Quillin, 113-113. The fight was a non-title encounter because Quillin failed to make weight on Friday, so Lee was able to keep his IBF middleweight championship regardless of the outcome.
A very calculated start with Quillin drilling Lee in the final thirty seconds with an overhand right that sent the Irish fighter down hard. Lee made it up and was nearly dropped again at the bell. Lee recovered well and took his time. They traded big shots to close the round out.
