If he calls it quits, that's one helluva career. Would have loved to see him tango with Morales when they were both in their primes, would have been a great fight.

Him sort of taking his ball home after finally getting a win over Pac and his inactivity while insisting on winning another weight division title takes a little shine off his career.

His brother gave Isreal Vazques multiple rematches even though he definitively won. Maybe JMM doesn't want to repeat his brother's KO followed by losses.

I expected to read some classy comments and some respect shown for a great fighter that gave some fantastic drama and multiple exhibitions of technical ability, heart and KOs. But after reading some of these comments, I remembered which site this is. Some predictable princesses lining up to take a dump on Marquez's career, all because he KO'd their favourite fighter. Shouldn't have expected all to rise above their sycophancy and show some respect for a fighter that gave so much to a sport they pretend to be a fan of.

If Marquez makes that decision it's fine by me. He has nothing left to prove after a great career. I'm grateful for all the great fights he gave us.

Do you even know how old Marquez is? He is going to be 42 in a few months. He is not a coward, he is simply over the hill now. It's easy to ignorantly criticize, since you are not the one risking your life as a middle-aged person out there.

Manny is 36. He still has a couple more years to be competitive. And he was beating the hell out of Marquez before he got careless (IOW, acted ******ly, underestimating Marquez) and got KTFO. Had he been more careful and smarter in that particular fight, he would have been the 1st man to knock Marquez out. He had his chance, when JMM was already showing evident signs of being an older boxer, which were confirmed in his fight vs. Bradley.

If they both were 36, or JMM were no older than 38 maybe, he could be called a coward, but an almost 42 year old retiring, is just common sense.

BTW, just by your excessive use of exclamation points, one can infer you can't be taken seriously.

When Manny wins he'll come out of retirement for a fifth fight.
