Dirrell is totally different in terms of style and skill to the last two guys that James stopped and was lauded for. James struggled against Groves when he was fighting on the backfoot and it took Groves gassing out for him to regain control. This fight will show us if he's worked on fighting effectively on the front foot because that's how I expect Dirrell to approach this fight. I'm excited for this one, May is looking like a stellar month of boxing.

The run up to summer is looking great for boxing

Can't wait for this one. Hopefully it'll have some decent undercards.

DeGale schools him but gets robbed by the judges.

I honestly cant pick much between them, my instincts tell me DeGale will win. Dirrell has had five fights in five years against pretty average competition, not the best preparation for this fight, but if he can put it all together on one night there arent many people to touch him.

Dirrell is skilled, but he used to fade late in fights and hugged too much. He was fading in his last fight also... In addition he doesn't move the way he used to move years ago. But maybe he'll find again his initial shape... I don't have a favorite in this fight.

Very difficult fight to predict due to both fighters inconsistency. Degale can look a million dollars one minute then the next minute he's getting worked over on the ropes. Dirrell looks a million dollars most the time, but has shown a lack of mental strength (and maybe a suspect chin?) in the past.

Gonna be fun to watch if you're into that kind of fight!

Heart says Chunky, head says Dirrell at this point. But that's exactly what I said in the Porter vs Brook fight and Brook pulled it out the bag that night.

This is a huge fight for Degale. I hope he rises to the occasion and shows his quality for all 12 rounds instead of giving random rounds away

Dirrell is not the same fighter he was 5 years ago. Just look at his last fight. He was so average.

Degale will clip and fold him.

James 'Chunky' DeGale and Andre Dirrell finally have a date and location for their forthcoming super middleweight title fight. The two will collide May 23 at a venue to be determined in Boston, Mass.

The bout will mark the stateside debut for DeGale (20-1, 14KOs), a Gold medalist during the 2008 Beijing Olympics who has fought exclusively in the United Kingdom since turning pro in 2009. It will also mark his first shot at a major title, one for which he has waited since becoming the mandatory challenger nearly a year ago.

Finally its here,?said DeGale in an interview Sky Sports News in the UK, who first broke the story. Andre Dirrell is a very good opponent. Hes a tall tricky southpaw, like me, and while a lot of people say our styles will clash ?I think theyll gel.? [Click Here To Read More]
