Millionaire athletes shouldn't be role models anyways. That is unless you find yourself in the 0.000001% of the population that has a legitimate chance of becoming one yourself. Then yeah, by all means.

Otherwise there are plenty of others out there to look up to and emulate if one needs a role model.

Everything that Roach is saying doesn't mean a thing! Floyd doesn't have to be a good role model to be a champion. All that you need to do to be the face of boxing is to be the best boxer out there and he has done that. A boxer doesn't go into the ring with the mindset of being a good role model to people, he goes in there wanting to be the best and box to the best of his ability and that's whT Floyd does. The way he acts outside the ring shouldn't mean a damn thing and it shouldn't ruin his credibility as a boxer. And that goes for anyone else who says Floyds a bad "role model." It's ******!

Kids need to look up to their parents not some random athlete(s). Floyd has his own kids to raise and by the looks of it on boxingscene a lot of these posters read like they never had anyone in their lives to instill positivity, humility and morals.

If that's true then the kid needs to learn respect. If his father gets in the ring and fights for a living for 20 years to give those around him a financially stable life then that man is not a coward.

Anyway, both guys are not good role models outside of the ring. Both should be respected in the fact they went from nothing to the top of their sport and dedicated themselves to it. In their personal lives, well neither are angels. We all know what Floyd is like and has done and Manny is an adulterer, had a kid a hooker outside of his marriage causing public humiliation to his wife and kids to those who know about it, amongst many other things i'm sure, it's probably the tip of the iceberg.

Who cares anyway? their personal lives do not affect mine or yours. To us they're just entertainers in a sport we like and will fight each other. How many actors and musicians do we all like that are probably worse role models than these guys? lots i bet.
